Human Development Scotland (HDS) is a Scottish mental health charity and our mission is to relieve mental and emotional distress by increasing the availability of, and access to, high quality psychodynamic and psychoanalytic counselling and psychotherapy for all who need them.
HDS can offer counselling for children and young people. We have limited availability but are happy to discuss potential referrals.
Most appointments are in central Glasgow, which is where trainees are based. Some trainees can also offer shorter blocks of 10 appointments online.
Qualified counsellors usually have availability in Glasgow City, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and at other locations or online.

HDS works with organisations, large and small, to offer counselling and psychotherapy as part of their Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP). Employers who choose to work with HDS will be able to provide their staff with access to HDS counsellors who can assist with a wide range of issues such as stress and anxiety, depression, bereavement or trauma related issues, for example.
