Our volunteer board members provide active support for HDS.  As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2023, we want to thank all our board members for their time, expertise and dedication.

We welcomed new board members who joined our Board of Trustees last month.  We look forward to getting to know them and working with them. We also thanked those who have recently resigned from the Board.

Last month, Lindsay Shrubsole was appointed as Chair of the Board of Trustees for HDS.  Lindsay had been fulfilling the role of Acting Chair of the Board following our previous Chair, Graham Monteith, standing down in December.  We wish Lindsay every success in the role as Chair and are thankful for her time, expertise and contribution to HDS.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Scottish communities and what better time to celebrate their very many vital contributions than during Volunteers’ Week. In celebrating volunteers and sharing their stories, we highlight the enormous breadth of volunteering opportunities on offer and demonstrate the many benefits – especially for volunteers. It’s important that this Volunteers’ Week we celebrate AND inspire and in doing so help those new to volunteering to take their next steps. So, here’s to Scotland’s (inspirational) volunteers – thank you and have a great Volunteers’ Week.” - Alan Stevenson, CEO Volunteer Scotland
