Thinking about studying with HDS?  We normally have Open Days in spring and autumn to help you find out more about our courses and give you the opportunity to speak to our course staff.

Can’t wait for the next Open Days?  Here are some resources that can help you in your research and decision on whether to apply for postgraduate training with HDS.  If you have any questions, please complete the enquiry form and we will be more than happy to contact you with answers.

We offer postgraduate training courses for people working particularly in the NHS, social services, education, private practice and voluntary sector.  Hundreds of professionals have been equipped by HDS and have used the experience in a wide range of ‘people-facing’ professions.

At HDS, we believe that psychodynamic approaches, in contrast to many other types of help, support individuals to go beyond self knowledge which is consciously available to them, and supports these individuals to address difficult and painful issues which they have been (unconsciously) hiding from themselves.     The Human Relations and Counselling Programme consists of 3 parts to provide different levels of training and qualification. This includes a Dilpoma (PGDip) and Masters (MSc). The course is ideal for people who currently use elements of counselling in their day-to-day work and would like to take further steps towards enhancing their practice and deepening their professional capacity.
