About the presenter - Iris Gibbs

Iris Gibbs

I trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist at the British Association of psychotherapists (BAP) now renamed the Independent Psychoanalytic Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Association (IPCAPA) and I work, supervise and teach in the field.  I also spent 5 years at the Anna Freud Centre in the Parent Infant Project (PIP) and contributed to the book about this work ‘The practice of Psychoanalytic Parent-Infant psychotherapy: claiming the baby’.  I have also written chapters in 2 books in the ‘Independent Psychoanalytic Approaches with Children and Adolescents’ edited by Monica Lanyado and Ann Horne, 'Through Assessment to Consultation Chapter and A Question of Technique’.  The chapters reflect my interest in parent Infant work, the Looked after child and his network and my special interest in race and culture and their impact on child rearing and child development.
